Where Creatures May Be – a poem by Leeon Cauchi (7.1)

Mr Gravina, English teacher of Class 7.1, shared with us this impressive poem by Leeon Cauchi about some creatures, both great and small! Thanks Leeon for sharing this with us, and we look forward to reading more from you in the future!

Creatures can be found anywhere in the world
Roaming around as free as a bird.
High in the sky, down on the ground,
Under the sea or deep underground.

Eagles live high on mountain tops,
And pigeons eat whatever drops.
The falcon is the fastest in the world,
And it hunts across the land.
On the other hand,
The hummingbird,
Sings all day long,
And my oh my, what a beautiful song.

Elephants are big and strong,
With a trunk that’s so long.
We all know about the giraffe,
Who always protects its calf.

Don’t forget about the king,
Of which we are sure of one thing.
His roar is loud and proud,
Scaring even the largest crowd.

Deep below we find all fish,
Sizes vary as you could wish.
The blue whale is not a common find,
With a very large tail behind.
Sharks with big teeth and large fins,
And all sorts of cute dolphins.

Mysterious creatures live underground,
Some are creepy and make no sound.
Buried deep living in a hole
You can find a furry mole.
Surely there you’ll find a snake
Living there not by mistake.

In the rain forest you find rivers,
With clear waters like mirrors.
When it rains, it pours like cats and dogs,
Carrying with it branches and logs.
With mosquitoes and flies roaming around
And the frogs cleaning them out.

All these amazing creatures in this rhyme
We should help to conserve in our time!
