Participation in Volleyball Tournament

On the 6th of February, a number of students represented our school during a volleyball tournament. The activity, intended specifically for middle schools, took place at the Cottonera Sports Complex. A total of four different schools participated; each consisted of a number of smaller teams of three or four students.

The main aim of the tournament was not to compete, but rather to encourage a physically active lifestyle whilst promoting the game within an enjoyable and educational setting. A healthy level of competition could be sensed, however. Even though most of our students were relatively new to the sport, they performed really well. In fact, our school managed to place 2nd overall!

Well done for the effort and the teamwork demonstrated on court! Another thumbs up goes for the Sport Promotion Unit forming part of Sport Malta in collaboration with the Malta Volleyball Association for the excellent organisation of the event. The values of sport, including passion, true sportsmanship, fair play and respect, were really highlighted. We look forward to participating in future activities.
