Our team won the Bronze Medal in the Malta Robotics Olympiad 2014. Miraine Galea, Trisha Cassar and Oriana Abdilla, in just 2 hours, completed their challenge to build a robot that can fetch crates to a designated area. Well done girls, we’re proud of you and so are your keen supporters Alessia Baldacchino, Jessica Da Silva Pires and Mariah Farrugia who encouraged you to keep on going all the way through. Spare a thought on what Prof. Tony Dyson hinted – robotics is your future.
The Malta Robotics Olympiad 2014 was held at the Cottonera Sports Complex, Bocci Drome Hall on Friday the 9th May, 2014. The general public, including parents and other students were invited to attend this event, including robotic workshops. Moreover, Prof. Tony Dyson, the man that built the World’s most lovable Robot ‘R2-D2’ as featured in all the STAR WARS movies, conducted an interactive session about ‘Robots of the Future’ at around 2:00pm and was also available during competition judging, award presentations and authographs to attending students.
