Our school is carrying out Dinja Waħda, BirdLife Malta’s education programme that connects children to nature and instils values, knowledge and skills that will empower them to live in a better balance with the environment now and in the future.
This year our Dinja Waħda project centres around the creation of a Reading Garden as a cross-curricular project for Form 1 students. The project involves creating a garden with indigenous plants around an seating area used to encourage a reading programme. Skilled labour for the building of rubble wall seating was provided by PARK (Parks, Afforestation and Countryside Restoration) while the vegetation planning, path layout and soil landscaping is being done by the students together with their teachers of English, ICT, Integrated Science and Maltese.
